A general meeting of the CENA board was held at 3:00 p.m.. September 8, 2002 at James McGoodwin’s home (2408 Millstream).
Proposed Bylaws changes were viewed and discussed. The newsletter will contain these proposed changes. The current Bylaws can be viewed on the CENA web site. The newsletter will also contain the president’s report as well as the clean-up report.
The CENA clean-up weekend has been scheduled for Saturday, October 19th and Sunday, October 20th from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. each day.
Discussion was held concerning post office mailings of the newsletter rather than hand distribution.
The annual CENA meeting will be held at Claire and Don Blancher’s home from 3:00 p.m.until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 6, 2002. CENA officers for the next year will be elected at this meeting. The slate is as follows:

Board Meeting, Aug 19, 2002
A general meeting of the CENA board was held at 3pm on August 19, at James McGoodwin's home (2408 Millstream).
Due to sprinkler system failures and breaks, the holly bushes are dying at the Orlando Drive entrance. They probably need to be replaced.
James McGoodwin, at his expense, upgraded the sprinkler system after the leaks were discovered. Discussion was held concerning the way James would be reimbursed.
Application has been submitted to the Plano "Right of Way Beautification Program". We hope to be accepted. Acceptance could help provide a small amount of funds to help with entryway maintenance and beautification.
A slate of Creekbend Estates Neighborhood Association officers for the next year was discussed. All existing board member volunteered to participate again except Secretary Sylvia Duncan. A suggestion was made that Helen Williams run for Communications board member and Claire Blancher for Secretary.
Discussion was also held concerning changing the Association bylaws. Any input on modifications should be e-mailed to Ted Mastenbrook who will make notes for discussion at the next meeting.
Claire Blancher volunteered her home for the annual CENA meeting tentatively planned for October 6, at 3pm. Announcement will be made in a newsletter and on the CENA Web site. The newsletter will be submitted for approval at the next general board meeting set for September 8, at 3pm, at James McGoodwin's home.

Board Meeting, Feb 17, 2002
A general meeting of the CENA board was held at 3:00 p.m. February 17, at
CENA President James McGoodwin's home (2804 Millstream).
Discussion was held in preparation for the "Entryway Annual Spring Spruce-Up" to
be held Saturday, March 16, starting at 9:00 a.m. Volunteers will meet at
the Lakeway entrance with their gardening tools, trash bags, and gloves.
Joan and Craig Mathew will furnish refreshments of homemade cookies and sports
drinks for volunteers.
News of the "Spring Spruce-Up" event will be published in the CENA newsletter
as well as on the CENA Web site. Sara Lytton has volunteered to write the copy
for this article. As Entryways chairman she will also try to coordinate the
clean-up activities. James McGoodwin and Ted Mastenbrook will scope out the
areas in need of attention such as bushes to be trimmed, leaves to be mulched
or taken out, weeds to be pulled or chemically treated, beds to be edged, and
limbs to be cut.
The board has been approached to address the subject of placing notices or
announcements in the CENA newsletter. The board decided that this should be
restricted to members only, but will be free of charge. Copy must be furnished
by the resident per board specification of size, color, and content, and will be
a staple-on attachment to the newsletter. The specific number of copies must be
turned in to the Communications director
(communications@creekbendestates.org)
a week before the newsletter deadline date.
The board also reiterated that we still offer free notices and announcements to
Association members on the CENA Web site Bulletin Board.
Residents should contact the Webmaster
(webmaster@creekbendestates.org)
to place an item on the CENA Web site.
Craig Mathew proposed a change in the publication of new members' names to become
an "automatic opt-in". As it stands now, some member names are not being published if
the members don't check the appropriate box on the membership form, or don't
complete the form. The new form will be published in the next newsletter, and the
new policy will be published on the CENA Web site. This change in policy will
affect only new members that join the Association, and will not be retroactive.

Board Meeting, Jan 26, 2002
A general meeting of the CENA board was held at 3pm January 26 at
Association president James McGoodwin's home (2804 Millstream).
Plano's new water regulations and rates were discussed. Commercial rates
may change in October. Even though the water is now turned off, we will
loosely monitor water usage to compare with a usage history that Lan will
tabulate. We will continue to monitor equipment maintenance as well.
There has been no change in membership since Thanksgiving. Membership is
still around 46%. Ten more members are needed to equal last year's
membership of 50%.
Preliminary discussion was held concerning a "Spring Spruce-Up" event to get
our entrances cleaned and prepared for spring. A tentative start time of 9am on
Saturday, March 16, has been set with the 17th as a "make-up" day in
case of inclement weather.
The next newsletter will go out around the third week of February.
The next board meeting was set for 3pm Sunday, February 17.
